Angry Birds now available on Facebook!

Ok, its been a while now but Angry Birds is now available on Facebook. Angry Birds has been the most successful game on the Apple AppStore since its launch and has went on to all other platforms like Android, Nokia S60 and Windows. It was also released on the Google AppStore and have since been integrated into Google Plus social network as well. So yes, you can say that its late to be in Facebook. But...

The Facebook version is still new. So it does lack in the levels that you find in all other platforms. Many of you may have already finished all the levels and be asking, "What's the big deal?". Well, there is a new Facebook exclusive level... Interested yet? I guess its what they needed to get people playing on the largest social network in the World.

So how is the graphics and sound? The graphics looks very clean and true to the pixel of the original. At the moment, we can see that it is implemented in Flash, so don't think you can try playing it on your iPad or iPhone (why would you anyway with the original available on the iOS?). The animation is surprisingly smooth too being on Flash and all. As for the sound, it is music to the ears. All the clings and clangs are true to the original.

One of the most factors that contributed to the success of Angry Birds is of course its sophistication yet simple game mechanics. And this Facebook version is no different and it adds a new feature that will keep you coming back for the same levels over and over again (until you get tired or give up...). This feature is the all famous feature in all Facebook games, friends score ranking system. Yes, now you can challenge all your friends on Facebook to see who is the ultimate pig-assassin.

Get stuck in a level and there are also some tools to help you out on the levels. Besides the all famous Mighty Eagle, there is now a host of other powerups which you can use to help you. They are the Sling Scope, Birdquake, Super Seeds and King Sling. Sling Scope will give you a line of target so you will know where your bird will hit. Birdquake, well, its pretty easy to understand this one; it will make the whole world shake and quake! Useful for when you have one stubborn pig that doesn't wanna fall off a cliff. Super Seeds will supercharge your bird and gives it super powers; for instance it will be able to smash through barriers which it usually can't. King Sling is a supercharged slingshot that will shoot your birds even further then it usually does.

As for the question posted earlier, why would one play Angry Birds on Facebook if they have already played other platforms? Well, I'm sure the exclusive levels and the new powerups will be sufficient to entice people to play. And with Facebooks' 400 million users, I'm sure just a 0% of them playing will make Rovio very very happy (not to mention even richer than they already are now!).
