Which Instagram Filters Are Most Popular

Instagram has changed the way we take our pictures. Ever since it was released, its popularity in the social networking world has been staggering. Well, Facebook wouldn't have splurged so much dough to buy the company if it isn't so popular. Releasing the Android version when the iPhone version was at its peak is the best thing that it did. Right timing and I think that was really the final motivation for Facebook to make a move to buy the company.

I'm not such an avid user of Instagram myself though. Only the odd occasion here and there and I don't really share it on my social networking accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc..). I am however curious as to which of its many filters are more popular? Well, I did a quick research on Google and found this...

The list below shows the most used to the least used filters (only top 10's percentages are shown):
  • Normal (46.81%)
  • Earlybird (12.31%)
  • X-Pro II (6.11%)
  • Hefe (3.98%)
  • Brannan (3.59%)
  • Rise (3.51%)
  • Lomo-fi (3.03%)
  • Valencia (2.76%)
  • Amaro (2.61%)
  • Nashville (2.47%)
  • Hudson
  • Toaster
  • Walden
  • Lo-fi
  • Inkwell
  • Sutro
  • Sierra
  • 1977
  • Lord Kelvin

It kinda funny to see the Normal filter being used the most. I would think the only reason you want to use Instagram is for its filters. Unless you want to share even your normal photos on Instagram. I personally use Toaster most. You can see more of the statistics on this site: [LINK]

There is a pretty good chance that the percentage of pics without any filter, i.e. normal, is so high because many users add filters and effects and save shots to the library and upload them at some point later as "normal". I personally do that a lot and I am sure there are other folks who do same.
